Meet Coach Cheryl

I have a passion to help you find direction and to assist you in finding a path that would help you to be successful, content, fulfilled, and most of all, to find purpose-The Abundant Life that God has for you. It is my desire to be a catalyst for helping you uncover your gifts, values, interests and passions so that we can explore where God might most like to use them.

I have been married for 32 years to a wonderful man. We have certainly experienced our highs and lows, but it has been through these times of elation and times of adversity that I have gained some insight and understanding in what makes marriages and relationships flourish. I can honestly say that I am married to my very best friend. I would love to help you be able to say the same. I have been a pastor’s wife for 10 years and God has allowed me many opportunities to coach, counsel, guide and listen to people covering a wide range of issues. My husband and I have raised two lovely daughters who are now finding their place in the world.

I spent too many years unclear of my purpose and just let life happen. In my early years, I lacked the guidance, direction and confidence to know how to discover my path. Similarly, my husband spent 20 years in the computer industry, and while successful in his career, he was not fully utilizing his gifts and passion. Even though we may not have been fully living the Abundant Life that God had for us, God certainly used that time to mold us and prepare us for the passion that He placed in each of us. Claiming the Abundant Life that Jesus offers us is the best place that we could possibly be. Too often we work backwards. We decide what we want to do and then we ask God to bless it. It is then that we often find ourselves on a path that is incompatible with our God-given gifts and talents. Seeking His direction first can reap huge dividends!

I returned to college as a non-traditional student, so I know what it is like to make changes in mid-life and strive for a goal. I graduated from McMurry University, Summa Cum Laude, with a degree in Psychology and have received my Life Coach training from the Institute for Life Coach Training (ILCT) - a member of the International Coach Federation, the gold standard for Life Coach training. I teach a Sunday School class of fascinating young adults, lead ladies Bible Studies and co-lead marriage enrichment classes and retreats with my husband. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, nature, gardening, exercising, reading, playing fetch with my dogs, cooking and baking (I know…the exercising and baking are cancelling each other out).
